Building Jesus into People's Lives

MissionsNicaragua
Since 2001 Sterling Acres has sent a team of missionaries, partnering with missionaries from other churches, to Nicaragua. The people there are in desperate need of adequate housing following a flood resulting from hurricane Mitch dumping over 10 feet of water in under 72 hours in 1998. Simple homes, by our standards, are built for families to replace their current "casa de plastica", or plastic houses. We sent a team again this year June 23 through July 1. We worked in the community of El Malinche, just outside the city of Leon, building 40 houses and providing families there with needed household and clothing supplies. Please pray for us as we continue to minister to the people there and share the gospel message through Bible School and personal evangelism. If you would like more information on our Nicaragua mission opportunities or would like to assist us in any way, please feel free to let us know at contact@sterlingacres.org.

Workers for Christ
Each year SABC sends a mission team to churches around our area to help with construction, roofing, remodeling, painting, or other needs they may have. Workers for Christ teams from Sterling Acres have been sent to Arizona, Indiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Louisiana and various locations throughout Missouri. Men and women of all ages and skill levels are part of this mission team. In addition to construction projects with other churches, Workers for Christ ministers to the practical needs of those in our church and community through home repairs and remodeling, painting, roofing, and moving of furniture and household items. Everyone is welcome to be a part of our Workers for Christ ministry team.
Members of our church, from all walks of life, donate a week of their time and talents in the month of June to travel, minister and fellowship with fellow-believers as they worked side by side to repair and construct new buildings to help out other churches. People of all ages and abilities take part. It is always a highlight of the summer. This year our summer project will be to build a new church building in Hollister, Missouri. Every member of Sterling Acres is encouraged to support our ministry opportunities with prayer, finances and talents and abilities.
